Ms. Okamoto was named Senior Vice President, General Manager, Mechatronics Segment and General Manager, Advanced Technologies SBU, Mechatronics Segment in January 2026. Prior to that, she was named the General Manager of SHI’s Precision Equipment Group in January 2023.  She has spent her career with SHI and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.  Beginning as a member of the Corporate Purchasing Department in 1991, she moved to the Cryogenics Division in 1997.  There, she was a longtime member of the Marketing and Sales Department, eventually becoming General Manager.  In 2019, she was named General Manager of the Cryogenics Division’s Planning and Control Department, where she remained until her promotion to lead the SHI Cryogenics Group in 2023.

Mr. Koseki brings three decades of experience to his role as President of Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics Shanghai, Ltd. (SCSL), a position he has held since January 2024.  He has spent his entire career with the Cryogenics Group of SHI’s Precision Equipment Division in Tokyo, Japan, including 23 years in the research and development of multiple products, such as 4K and 10K Gifford-McMahon Cryocoolers and Compressor units.  He then served as Quality Assurance Manager from 2020 to 2024.

Today, he manages the sales and service of cryogenics and vacuum (for semiconductor) products in the Chinese market.

A native of Hsinchu City, Mr. Hsu brings a history of cryocooler and cryopump knowledge to his role as Director of Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics Taiwan Co., Ltd. (SCTW).  Prior to joining SCTW, he spent many years at Allis Electric Co., Ltd. in charge of sales and service management of Daikin and SHI-APD cryopumps and cryocoolers.  Before that, his experience involved robots and unmanned transfer systems for plastic injection-molded products.  Today, Mr. Hsu manages the sales and service of SHI’s cryogenic products into the Taiwanese semiconductor and laboratory industries.

Mr. Lee bring extensive experience in cryogenic and vacuum technology to his role as CEO & President of Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of Korea Co., Ltd. (SCKL).  He joined SHI in 2008, establishing SCKL in July of that year.  Today, he leads SCKL as it provides cryogenic sales and service across South Korea to the semiconductor and research industries.

Dr. Derakhshan was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. (SCAI) in April 2021, overseeing operations in five facilities across the United States.  He joined SCAI in March 2019 as Director, SCAI Engineering, leading and supporting new product development and other related initiatives.  In November 2020, he was named Chief Operating Officer, managing the daily internal operations of SCAI.

Prior to his time with SHI, Dr. Derakhshan gained over 20 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience in the healthcare diagnostic imaging industry, including 14 years in MRI magnet design and development.  He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and has authored over a dozen patents within the healthcare industry.
