New Name Reflects Strategic Alignment and Commitment to Innovation
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) today announced that effective January 1, 2026, its Cryogenics Division within the Mechatronics Segment has adopted a new organizational name: Advanced Technologies Strategic Business Unit (AT-SBU).
This change underscores SHI’s commitment to strengthening global competitiveness and aligning with the strategic business unit (SBU) structure introduced in 2023. The Advanced Technologies SBU will integrate the SHI Cryogenics Group’s cryogenic and vacuum solutions with the XY Stage System’s semiconductor production equipment (SPE), delivering enhanced innovation and customer support across industries including semiconductor, medical and research.
